Character Building Society (CBS)

​

The Character Building Society encourages students to work as a team, and explore varied aspects of each others' personalities. It provides students with an atmosphere that invigorates them to acquire different skills: management skills, decision-making, problem-solving, etc. Who knows, you may unleash your dormant abilities and learn skills you never thought you would! Here, at the Character Building Society, we aim to form a canvas of values that foregrounds our daily lives, colours our conversations, builds our belief in a progressive future and encourages us to become good human beings.

7th September 2022:

The society organized a seminar titled "Character Building in the Age of Artificial Intelligence". Dr. Muhammad Rasheed Arshad, Department of Philosophy, University of the Punjab, and Dr. Qurratulain Liaqat, Department of English, Forman Christian College University, were invited as guest speakers. The seminar was meant to make students understand the importance of having "character" in a world where technology has taken over human civilization. The speakers reiterated the need to revisit ways in which we are shaping our character in a highly digitized world. In doing so, they highlighted the relevance of contemporary literature in the comprehension of character in relation to artificial intelligence.

20th October 2022:

The society organized a seminar titled "Seerat-un Nabi and Character Building" to celebrate the spirit of the blessed month of Rabbi'al-Awwal. Dr. Khurshid Alam, Assistant Professor at IES, highlighted the teachings of the Prophet  Muhammad(PBUH) and emphasized on character-building of the youth, in this day and age.
